LIBRA is the Lions International Blood Research Appeal. It was founded in 1976 in order to raise funds for the Haematology Department at King's College Hospital in London so that lives can be saved. It is the only charity which solely campaigns for these world renowned laboratories and patient wards.
Blood disorders and cancers affect people of all ages and with LIBRA'S support King's is able to provide patients with the best treatments available. The Charity raises funds to cover laboratory developments and also the cost of state-of-the art equipment that is vital in the treatment process.
Throughout 2015 the goal is to raise a further £100,000 through the Giving 4 Growth Campaign. All funds raised will help to cover the cost of urgent laboratory developments and clinical trials equipment. The funds will ensure that King's Haematology Team can develop and trial new treatments for blood cancers including Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma.
One way you can help to do this is by supporting the Great Spring Bake 2015 in aid of the Lions International Blood
Research Appeal (LIBRA). All funds raised will benefit King's College Hospital's Haematology Department.
All you need to do is bake some tasty treats, sell your goods and donate to LIBRA! You might like to organise a cake sale, tea party or coffee morning. Your event can be held anytime during the spring and in a location that suits you - perhaps at home or in your workplace.
Funds you raise will ensure new lifesaving treatments can be created at King's. Together we can help to fight leukaemia, lymphoma,
myelodysplastic syndrome and many other blood disorders.
If you would like to get involved, please contact us to request your Great Spring Bake Guide.
